January 13, 2021 Toshiba Electronic components and Storage Corporation (“Toshiba”) today announced the launch of five new groups of microcontrollers – M4K, M4M, M4G, M4N and M3H, all of the TXZ+™ family . The M4K, M4M, M4G and M4N groups are based on the Arm® Cortex®-M4 core; the M3H group is based on the Arm® Cortex®-M3 core. The entire group can achieve low power consumption, suitable for many types of applications, such as motor control, connected IoT devices, advanced sensing functions, etc.

Engineering samples will be available from the fourth quarter of fiscal 2020 (January to March 2021), and mass production will begin in the second quarter of fiscal 2021 (July to September 2021). In addition, related documentation, development tools and sample software will also be provided.

The advanced microcontroller operates at a maximum frequency of 200MHz, has a flash memory storage capacity of up to 2MB, and integrates a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter. It also integrates application-specific peripherals such as a high-efficiency motor control engine or rich connectivity interfaces.

M4G group

Maximum operating frequency 200MHz, maximum flash memory storage capacity 2MB, high-speed communication interface, analog circuit for multi-sensor connection, high-reliability firmware update for secure processing

M4N group

The maximum operating frequency is 200MHz, the maximum flash memory storage capacity is 2MB, various IoT device (sensing and communication) interfaces, supporting high-speed data transmission

Group M3H

Integrated LCD Display function, self-diagnosis function compliant with IEC60730 home appliance functional safety standard, high-efficiency motor control, system miniaturization by reducing BOM
