January 20, 2021 – ON semiconductor (ON Semiconductor, NASDAQ: ON), driving energy-efficient innovation, announced the Quuppa Intelligent Locating System™ for RSL10, the industry’s lowest RSL10 Power-efficient flash-based Bluetooth low energy radio system-on-chip (SoC). Available in a user-friendly CMSIS-Pack format, the solution enables manufacturers to design ultra-low power indoor asset tracking applications with direction finding features and advanced angle of arrival (AoA) technology.

Quuppa intelligent positioning system is a powerful technology platform for positioning services and applications. Its unique direction finding method and localization algorithm can track tags and devices in real time with centimeter-level accuracy even in challenging environments. Quuppa technology enables location updates to be sent up to 50 times per second, providing a reliable and versatile real-time location system (RTLS) solution for all industries.

The RSL10 Quuppa RTLS AoA Tag CMSIS-Pack is part of a comprehensive asset management development ecosystem provided by ON Semiconductor and technology partners. Designed to provide manufacturers with flexible deployment options, the ecosystem offers a range of RSL10-based solutions, including sensor development kits and software resources. For turnkey solutions, ON Semiconductor has partnered with Tatwah sa to develop a combination of Bluetooth tags and beacons, including the recently added Quuppa traceable tag.

Wiren Perera, Director of IoT, ON Semiconductor, said: “Asset monitoring and tracking enables a wide range of applications to enable new capabilities and dramatically increase productivity. Ultra-low-power wireless sensing and accurate location recognition are key to delivering on this promise. In our industry-leading Quuppa’s traceability technology can address this need by implementing Quuppa’s Bluetooth low energy wireless platform, and our solution lineup can fully unleash the market potential.”

Fabio Belloni, Chief Customer Officer at Quuppa, said: “We are delighted to be working with ON Semiconductor to create an asset monitoring and tracking solution across vertical markets. Over the years, we have witnessed an increasing demand for RTLS technology from enterprises that are looking to Gain visibility into production lines and workflows. The need for a variety of different types of sensors and labels to enable these use cases is endless.”

The RSL10 Quuppa AoA RTLS Tag CMSIS software, which includes the Quuppa intelligent positioning system, is compatible with all RSL10-based development hardware, and is now available for free download.
